RIB Insurance

My RIB Insurance is due up soon. Currently with Royal Sun Alliance through Marldon. Quoted £387 with 1 years NCD.
Who do most RIBnet members insure with?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Had my last RIB insured with the same company again through Mardon. About £250 for a RIB valued at £12k. Didn't find anywhere else cheaper.

rib insurance

One of the best i have found is

http://www.divernet.com/westfield/boats.htm

and most of the boats the insure are dive ribs but the cover is comprehensive . When i had a claim last year you could not fault the service and they paid out very quickly

RIB Insurance

You could try Giles Insurance (Marine Section) on 01294 274629. Always been good for me with very low premiums and very good comms.

link: www.thebroker.co.uk

Jim Bell was the man to talk to but I suspect he may have left the company as his name isn't appearing on letters anymore.

However I haven't had to make a claim (yet) so cannot comment on that side of it.

I use http://www.porthcawl-insurance.co.uk/ haven't needed to claim, but always answer the phone if I need to change / add cover. Also offer legal protection for £10. I pay £300 for 5.6m rib with 90hp, trailer and £1000 of electronic bits.

I also use PIC above. Competitive rates and good advice - particularly with regards to the application of policy wording. For me the big benefit is a declared value cover - not some loss adjusters view of " market" worth if it is lost.
Thankfully I have not had to make a claim to test how reaaly good the cover is .............

Insurance

Having just had the misfortune to have to make a claim I cannot speak highly enough of Heath Lambot Insurance services. I paid £380.00 for a years insurance on £38,000.00 After having the covers slashed and CD player stolen the claim was dealt with and paid out within 4 weeks. Contacts below www.heathlambot.com tel. 01512274321
good luck

I filled out the online form for the insurance with that diving one and the grumph arrived today...nice and quick! Seems to be a pretty reasonable quote as well. £180 for my 5.2m Shakespeare with 70hp Tohatsu, although that doesn't include waterski cover which I need.

Interesting thread guys. I'm with GJW whom have always been good. I thought that £380 for £18K worth of Rib a bit steep. Might shop around some of these recommends.

RIBase
If you have Level 2 powerboat certificate you should get a minimum of 10% off any quote. If they don't oblige, then find one that does!
