Match, to be honest, there are loads of insurance companies out there, as yet in 15 years of having a boat, I have been lucky and never had to claim, so I do not know if the companies I have used are any good.
So in short, I cant answer your question, however I am sure someone will soon.

Again same answer as above, you never know how good an insurance company is until you need to use them by way of a claim.
If it helps I am with craftinsure they are well priced and flexible I had problems last year getting cover to go in convoy to the channel Islands this company covered it. HOWEVER, thank fully I have not made a claim so proof is in the pudding.
I know there are a few guys with them. Craftinsure Boat Insurance | Compare Yacht, Narrowboat, Dinghy, RIB, Speedboat, Canoe and Kayak Insurance
PeterM can advise who not to insure with

CRAFTINSURE were good for me, I had to claim last year and they paid out with only one quotation from Menai Marine and didnt even send a surveyor out, policy has gone up a bit this year but still stook with them for their previous service

Craftinsure.com
are susspiciously cheap used them for ages & always thought this could be difficult if I had to claim but had a claim of several thousand pounds a couple of years ago & they couldnt have been better
I'm always suspicious of companies like them that do all there business online & expected to have to do all the claim online too but it wasnt they were always there at the end of the phone & returned calls if they didnt have the answer straight away
highly recomended

After the problems that the poor chap who killed his son found, check the small print to make sure that it covers the age groups that you intend to carry. He was not insured as his son was too young. But I guess, insurance won't bring his son back so it would have been little consolation even if he was covered.

I've used these for the last few years - Boat insurance, online quote for your boat, yacht or dinghy in the UK
Used to use Swinton but they got very expensive, very quick.
I don't like this exclusion found in some policies, including Craftinsure's; • Accidents whilst “BoatNameHere” is in transit by road
Found this in our dive club policy as well. Not good as my car insurance won't cover it either. At least the policy via Insure my boat covers transport.

I also need insurance for a Ribcraft 7.8 with a 250 Suzuki on the back? I have to say that insuring a boat is a minefield.
Craft insure want a design speed that is lower than 45 knots! I bet most of your boats go faster than this.
Towergate won't insure anybody for accidental injury that is under 18 or over 76. So unless I am negligent where there is then a third party claim against me (which has a high burden of proof) for anybody carrying children on his policy tuff luck!!
I think they are better insured if you are towing them on a ring or skis!
This is the wording of the Towergate Platinum insurance Policy in respect of personal injury:
Your Policy insures You and Your passengers for accidental death or accidental injury while You or they are on Your boat, or getting on or off it.
Exclusions - Your Insurers will not pay:
• If death or disablement happens more than 12 months from the date You or Your passengers have been injured;
• for anybody under 18 or 76 or over at the time of the accident;
Etc etc
It's not the broker that writes the policy it is the underwriters. Has anybody had a good read of their policy wording which would cover this? I would like my children insured as well as my adult guests.
Thanks.
