Rib International
A quote from rib magazine, Ribex 2004 article:
'Definite favourites will include Valiant, Ribcraft, Humber, Coastline, Osprey, Revenger, Solent Ribs, Ribs Marine and two of the marine world's most highly sought after makes- Scorpion and Mark Pascoe'
Question: Do you think that this is unbiased and impartial reporting???

Vote for what...
Define "best"...
Best load carrying capacity? Best looking? Best high-speed handling? Best low-speed manoeuvrability? Best price? Best economy at high speed? Best service intervals? Best warranty? Best design? Best delivery period? Best colour scheme availability? Best residual values? Best fittings? Best build quality? Best in high seas? Best in calm waters? Best ride? Best at what I want, or best at what you want?..….. Best compromise……..

It would be good to start a poll to see what is the most sought after rib. JK whenever you've got the time!

As fair and impartial as RIB Int ever gets. Advertisers are important people after all!

Rib Int
Sure, advertisers are important but if i was a rib manufacturer such as one of those listed before the mighty Scorpion and Mark Pascoe i think i would be a little bit narked.

I do not see RIB-X on the list. I know that they will be there though.

Dick Trasea
Was informed about the Olmec in a Welsh pub last Sunday evening. The 'Jaguar Child' is one of the stone figures found with part human and part animal features.
Rich L has done some research into this but don't ask his wife about it!

it never fails to astound me how poor the standard of journalism and articles generally is in RIB Int...
Yesterday, after reading a 'story' on Ribcraft's Mitigator, I decided to take a look at their website... only to find the entire story, practically word for word, was a reproduction of the PR blurb. Some paragraphs were lifted whole.
You rarely ever read a story about a 'bad' rib in there...
However, as long as fools such as I continue to subscribe it probably won't get any better either...

i think some of the articles are good, those written by the like of Paul Glatzel
and Dave Mallett are very useful for the newcomer, as for the never hear about a bad rib, well your not going to bite the hand that feeds you are you.

I like this mag, however every month they have the same typos .... on the tables that show the ideal uses for the RIB being reviewed. Diving is often printed as Driving ...... and worse Inshore has been shown as Insure!!!
Basic errors Mr Editor!!! However keep up the good work, any RIB mag is better than nothing!

You're absolutely right Tim, actually I should rephrase/clarify my post.
The 'How to' articles are generally excellent, and whilst not written by pro journalists - have lots of clear, concise info in them which I have found generally excellent and useful.
However the RIB reviews are generally very bland and PRish. I fully understand the need to not badmouth your advertisers BUT we also need some incisive comment in the rib reviews and few equipment reviews would help as well.
