In a few words that the boat is fast but looks like it chine walks and the opinion (IMHO not mine alone) is that it could only go fast in flat sea. In rugh sea and waves like the ones we have in Greece or those they guys had to face in Egypt it wouldn't do well at all.

Thanks Manos!
Yes I completly understand your point, the RIB has to be tested to comnpletly understand it's behaviuor, what you see is not chine walking, chine walking is caused by defects of hull designs and it's present also with plain flat sea,of course I have no proof that it behaves well in very high seas since it has only been tested (succesfuly) with waves up to 1 meter (wich at more than 70 knots are respectable waves!)
Keep in mind that now we now have more than 500 HP on with a 29 pitched prop turning at 5500 rpm, for a speed of 77 knots, the RIB weight is 1500 KG ready to race (200 lt fuel and drivers..everything) and it's riding on 20 cm of hull, what you get is some natural rolling created by lateral waves + very high single prop torque.
The RIBis 2.5 wide with tubes and 1.9 at the chines so it is very narrow, this makes lateral moment of inertia quiet low and rolling stays almost unaltered and very controllable also with higher seas than that that you see in the video.
The Hull has been kept very narrow to be able to face rough sea and is almost 60 deg. at the extreme bow.
Anyhow, hope you would be able to see it live,we are going to have an international race event next year and the more international people we have the better it will be!

Thanks for the explanation and interest to what we were discussing
The speed is fast by any comparison and 70knots on 1 metre waves is fast.
Just (probably) a silly quesion .... From what you say do I assume that is a wave pearsing hull then?
I hope that I get the chance to see it some time
Are you going to enter it in the Egypt race next year?

Hi Manos,no,of course it's not a wave piercer but it is an extremely soft hull, with very fine entries at the bow and as you say it tend to pierce the waves.
Talking about races it does not depend on me,the drivers choose where to race since they pay theyr own racing activity,I'm just the designer...

I know that boat with the swardfish an ATTACK 6.5 mtrs came first in 250bhp. I will ask about the rest and will let you know.
I will also ask about the banana shark and if I can get some more footage of the boat will send it over to you

Very interesting - were they all in the same class, and do you know what engines they had on the back? I believe the BananaShark has a Opti 225?
By the way our race boat may be available soon if you know anyone that might be interested in Greece?
