RIB racing section

John Kennett, I am just wondering has there been any thoughts or discussion in the past of having RIB race section on this forum ?

No one has asked me for one before, but I am happy to add one if there is a demand. I don't want to add lots of forums that won't be used!

We haven't heard much at all from racers, which may be because there aren't actually very many of them . . .

Any other racers (or potential racers) out there? It would be great if we could get enough interest to revive Forumula 3 which is the currently defunct entry level for RIBs with a minimum length of 5.6 metres and engines of 90-115 HP.

John

Personally we are thinking of going for F2 but F3 could be an option if that will be put back in action. Come on lads lets find out wether there is an interest for racing section on RIB.net so we don´t have to rely on BM. I´m up for this.

Not sure if there will be enough for a seperate forum but as a racer / constructor it would be easier to find race related topics - I would be happy to add the odd coment on racing from time to time as well as results etc if there was a demand?

Cookee

That would be a good start. What do you reckon on the chances of persuading some other racers to participate?

I know there are one or two on the other "channel", maybe you should come to some of the races and promote the site?

There is a place for everyone at the races - from "just" being a spectator to joining in as a rescue boat or even being an official.

The dates of this seasons races are on our website as well as on the RYA's site

I think that it would definately be a worthwile addition to the forum, would be very interested in reading about all aspects of RIB racing.

We have both individuals, racing teams and manufacturers supporting this.
