RIB security measures

What do you use to stop your pride and joy being nicked? Are there any products which give good insureance discounts? Also with the number of RIBS being stolen are there any tracking devices which can be used - would a car one be suitable?

If You do a search there was a thread about a year ago on this, with options noted inc a good package, unfortunatly we didn'tt get rnough numbers together to make it viable if I remember.

Insurance

I have just been sorting out insurance. They have requested outboard lock, trailer clamp and chain to post as a minimum while I had done this already for my own benefit there was no discount for it. I got the outboard lock at LBS if you want the details give me a call. The rest came from local locksmith.

Rib Tracker

and yes i know boat tracking devices exsist. but i was demoed a new one today ? you put in your long and lats and if it moves 50 yards it calls you and lets you track it on your home pc and mobile and hand held gps , so you do not nessaseraly have to phone the police if you would like the plesure of reposesing the rib yourself it was not very expensive prorata cost of rib , and the best thing was it had a 16 week battary life now i am at home so please dont ask to many questions. i will if i can ask the designer to speak on here him self . but it is made for ribs and designed by a riber and insurance approved

is it based on the same system used by securicor and the like for when they
move money around,if so you can still rob them by using something that disrupts the signal i won't post what it is on here but it should be checked first as a clever thief will still be able to take your boat. if it is not based on this system i would like to know more for my boats
