rib serial number

Hi all. Ive bought a second hand 5.3 tornado. Have insured it but they need to know the serial number of the hull. The plate on the back is no longer there and cant find it on any paperwork that came with it. Any ideas on what to do?

The Hull Identification Number HIN. Is usually embedded in the grp on the outside of the transom. HINs only became compulsory a few years ago ( not sure when) so depending on the age of the hull, you might not have one.

Once you've located it tap it into the link below to validate it. This link is from the "Stolen Boats" database so it should highlight any outstanding HIN in the process, although I'm not sure how accurate it is so don't rely on that alone in doing your pre-purchase security checks
