defender 90/100 are both rated at 3.5 tonnes, as are Disco 4 and Range Rover. One big benefit of D4 over 90/110 for towing heavy trailers is the auto box, bomb proof and no clutch to worry about

Now you've opened up "Real 4x4" vs "Posing 4x4" snobbery - I bet the D4 doesn't leak either and there's no vibration grey-out if you drive it for more than 5 miles - and yes I own a 110!

Pardon my ignorance but what's "vibration grey-out"? & no D4s don't leak, well at least mine doesn't.......yet

3500kg. He may have a Colorado (2800kg) rather than an Amazon. The Colorado is rather limp wristed by comparison.

best solution for leaky defenders is to drill hole in floor, or just leave a couple of bolts out, won't stop water getting in but it does let it out quicker, and yes I've got a 90

I loved my old Freelander 2 so much I bought an XC60 once the LR warrantee ran out, have to say I'd have comfort, cornering and reliability over a green badge any day

It's a slower version of what Skywalker and Solo used see through the front screen of the Milenium Falcon....

Hi people, new to the forum and to boats, started last year with a 320 Europa sport SIB with a Merc 2.5. I know it's not big or fast but the point is it's great fun on the water. Usually slash about on the Firth of Forth out of Port Edger. My point is, does it really matter what you ride, the great thing about boats is No signs, no lines. U-turn when you want. Freedom however fast or slow you go.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum, fair comment, well put. Don't give too much credence to what's said, most of it is bollix & we're just passing time until the weather improves. It's generally all in fun, unless someone has a serious sense of humour malfunction

Ribeyes:
Have surveyed lots of 785s
All OK bar one early boat which was also a very heavily worked charter boat. Developed some cracking in the bottom. Hardly surprising!
A 600 looks like a great starter boat - and at less than £10k good value.
120hp on a 6m?
My 6.5 Scorpion, and at least one other I know of was rigged by the Factory when new with a 90hp 2 stroke.

Don't bother, the holes appear, and you'll be lucky to find a floor to drill a hole in.
If you can't find holes then you've got a warranty claim. Holes appear, if not then take it back to the dealer and they'll give you a LandRover where the holes appear faster than your model outlives it's lifespan.

Completely agree! The freedom ribbing gives me is probably one of the most enjoyable aspects (not being old enough to drive adds to it). I love being able to just plot a course to somewhere that looks interesting and then go discover it for yourself.

As long as you don't slash too much, some people go in the water. And your tubes should ideally be stripey, orange and green.
And you aren't allowed to go about near or even think of Edger.
I've plotted a U-turn course once, and again, and again, and again..........got me there, here, there
