How about something like military aircrew wear for when it is warm.
It is a waistcoat made out of a mesh material (so not as to get too hot).
There is a built in Lifejacket and storage for a first aid/survival kit, radio/beacon and mini flares. Everything for the self respecting Man-Overboard

Design Mulling
Apart from the niche market for full on raiding party clobber, in which direction would the RIB orientated market go? Smock or zipped jacket? Musto do some cracking practical looking smocks ideal for more movement etc but at a price.
Smock style lends itself to economy and ease of production but if sealed isnt ideal for pub sessions or schmoozing totty.

Right then, I'll get the markers out and knock summut up over the weekend, pdf it for you all to have a look at and away we'll go (ish). Next bit will be selecting the models/high energy location for the fotoshoot.
Is there a chance that this thing can go into production?

Small point but
Couldn't let it go......best not attach your killcord to clothing or life jacket etc, round your leg is probably best. Clothing can come adrift and prevent killcord from doing it's job. Leg will hopefully not come adrift etc etc...

You could try www.hotribs.co.uk , www.pontoontalk.co.uk and www.boatmad.com but many of the RIBsters on those sites use this forum too.
BTW, if you go on Boatmad asking about RIB things, be prepared to have the mickey taken. Some of its members love winding up 'toob boters'!

For me it's a Hely Hansen fleece/nylon-shell reversible jacket with zipped pockets.

If you're going any distance, in anything but the finest weather, then IMHO there is no substitute for a breathable drysuit.
I doesn't matter what features you build into a jacket, unless it's somehow designed to be worn over a drysuit then I would be unlikely to buy one!
I've tried various combinations of waterproofs and floatation suits, and the only thing that will keep you dry is a drysuit. However good your technical jacket is, it's not actually going to keep you dry.
What might be useful is some sort of waistcoat that would effectively convert a standard gas lifejacket into one of those aircrew style survival vests with pockets for gear. It could be a bit "warry" for some people though.
