Gary,
Sorry to hear that mate. She was looking good!
Try the RIB shop, they are on the Hamble so not to far from you.
The next thing to buy is a shot gun!!

You have my sympathies.
I had that done to mine 2 winters ago . I was advised to also patch the tube from the inside (it wasa 4 inch cut). THis patch needn't be airtight but is to help hold the sides together. Now 19 months later it is still sound . Most chandlers/boat suppliers can sell you any particular size of hypalon you need. Also make sure you use fresh glue.
Good luck with the repair.
Ian

This sort of thing sickens me - it is done purely out of spite - if it's was nicked for financial gain at least there is some twisted logic behind it.
I reckon if you are leaving a RIB in an area where it may be vandalised it may help to let all the air out of the tubes. RIBs really don't look their best with saggy tubes and the little shits may not bother to slash them if they look knackered already!!!

Thats right in fact sometimes if a potential thief doesn't have any joy trying to nick yer pride and joy, they will purposefully deface it and vandalize it just through sheer spite, that really yanks my chain!

Best of luck with the repair king, let us know how it goes.
I dread catching and tearing a tube on something, to find someone had done it deliberately to yours must have been sickening.

Gary where do yu store your rib? driveway or boatyard? i ask that because there is every chance that the same wa---r may come back and do the same once yu have repaired it. Some of the local youth that live about a mile from me have got nothing better to do than cause trouble and destroy things, i.e setting people's bins on fire and causing a general nuisance, lucky for me i live in one of the better area's away from the worse of it. They all avoid my place anyway though when they do venture out from their estate looking for things to nick or destroy, my dogs, 2 bull terriers and a lion (huge 16 stone bull mastiff) are better than any other deterant to keep scum away from your property
