Ribbing in NW Wales

Hello and Bore/pnawn da to any of our Cymraeg speakers.

I am off to Porthmadog for the Easter break which means I have to forego the pleasures of ribbing on the Solent

Are there any commercial ribbers in that area that I and some of the kids might get a trip out with?

Anybody do any boat trips to offshore islands?

If not any suggestions on where to visit?

Diolch Mawr

That brings back memories - I did most of my diver training off Angelsea / Llanberis way.

Its well worth a visit to electic mountain and the slate mining museum at llanberis (whilst you're at the slate museum, pop round to Vivian at the back of the carpark - I did 60% of my training dives in there!)

It might be worth asking Jono for Gwyns' contact number ...... he's got a nice coded Revenger and he may be able to help.
Recently did our PB2 with Gwyn (& Dave) through PPT and he certainly speaks the lingo ..... and a great knowledge of the area. Nice guy toooooo

Peter.
Whilst your at Porthmadog You could drive over to Caernarfon it will only take about 30 mins. You will find a guy who operates out of Victoria dock he does tours around the Menia Straights so it will give you a totally different aspect to the Cardigan bay area. You've also got the castle. At Dinas Dinlle you have the Caenarfon airport where they do pleasure flights over Snowdonia national park these only take 1/2-1 hour. Glynllyfon park great place to have a walk around. The list is endless from the slate mines to electric mountain to the little trains. A lot really depends on what the weather is doing, you and your family will have too much choice for one weekend. We've been going every easter since 1980 and we're still not bored

Thanks

Thanks to every one for the suggestions.

I ended up taking a trip on a boat out of Pwllheli with a bloke who knew this forum's very own Jono Garton.

Great trip, I'd recommend it to any one : www.shearwater.info

Check the gallery for some photos.

Peter.
