Ribcraft
I called in at the Ribcraft factory today to check on the progress of my new baby. It's the first time I have visited the new place, the last time I called they were at Pen Mill. The new factory is very impressive, if a bit crowded with all the boats they have in production, no sign of a recession in Yeovil! Dorian gave me the full tour which shows the complete production process from hull layup to fitting out. The build quality of the hulls, is, as ever second to none. Having seen the work & materials that go into the boats, I feel a tad better about parting with my dosh, you really do see where the money goes. They were just commissioning a brand new machine that will automate the cutting of the tube material, it's the only one of its kind & Ribcraft have developed it in conjunction with the manufacturer. Apologies if this sounds like a Ribcraft pr handout, it ain't. I'm just an impressed Yorkshireman, which takes some doing.
Looking forward to the end of April now when she should be complete, only 6 weeks late, but hey ho.
