Ribcraft 5.85- Complete!

Hey guys I just got to see my Ribcraft 5.85 which has just been completed. It looks great in all black. The console itself is pretty big (double console) but i dont know if i for some reason go out in the rain or a real rough day if the waters going to be spraying over the sides and ill be blinded Other than that i hope the honda 115 isnt to heavy The goofball who made the console area put the seat so close to the steering wheel that i have to practically jump into the jockey seat The pictures are too big to attach so i have no idea how to post them up here but i had a couple questions. I did not get a windshield with the boat and I was wondering, are they worth it?

Congrats Choppywaters,

if You have an image manipulating program like Paintshop Pro you can resize the photos before you upload. Or you can put them on websites like Photobucket.com and link to them. Windshields are a necessity I think. It keeps the wind off your face and makes for a more pleasurable ride. Or you can wear goggles. For me all that wind gives me bloodshot eyes everytime.

choppy,
best image resizer for ease of use (and its free!) is imageresizer from Microsoft.
It only works with XP though.
Can be downloaded from their powertools site.
Adds resize botton to your right click menu.
Point to photo, right click;choose your default size and you are done!
cheers Dal

Definatly get a screen fitted but make sure its big enough because ther are a lot of screens on consoles that do absolutely nothing apart from keeping spray of the electronics and not your self unless you duck down behind them and then it hinders your ability to drive the rib as you will no doubt find out most people stand up when at the wheel of the rib for better vision I personaly find it more comfortable to stand rather than sit on the seats and then my screen does nothing at all apart from stopping the spray hitting my chest good luck

Hope these worked. I might get a windshield but i usualy wear glasses while boating anyways. I would rather get some sort of grab rail all around the console and a cushion for the bench in the front, then if i have the money get the screen.

Congratulations - She looks a completely different machine in black than my blue and white one.

Personally I like my windshield - but I would get out there and get some hours under your belt before you worry about it too much.

Your seat looks fine to me cant be any different than getting on the single Jockey seat that I have where the seat is actually part of the console.

Good luck with her anyway - one thing is for sure the boat will inspire confidence in you every time you take her out. I have had my boat out in some fairly rough stuff and every time I was sure she could handle more if needed.

heh dctucker..have fun in Florida,
Roycruse the pics look great, I hope she rides as well as you say she does And i definetly see what your talking about with the Seat..pretty much same setup except a small gap in between the seat and console for me. The hydraulic steering makes the wheel pop out alot more so thast why the guy said it was so close.
