Bestman,
Sent you the pics of my setup with my 585 on FB. The truth is, the 585 is a great boat, so is the 6.8, etc, you need to decide what suits your needs. If you're going to be running round with 6 or 7 adults every time then the 6.8 (or bigger) is going to suit your needs better. If it's only occasionally and you want a smaller RIB then the 585 is a great RIB too, but if you do wan't to load it, then a 150Hp I'd say is a must. My Yam 150F will push her up on the plane with 7 of us, 3 being on the back seat and yes, she will sit bow up and not as quite well balanced if only 4 onboard all on the jockeys, but, I'm only ever out in good conditions and probably no more than 10Nm from base on the rare occasions I have 7 onboard. For me on balance and what I use my RIB for the 585 ticks all the box's and is a fantastic RIB.

Thanks gents very useful info.

Pipster - I'm not good on FB but don't think I received anything.

No had a comprehensive reply from Ribcraft yet - get the feeling they are a bit stretched at the moment.

It’s all changed at RC recently. New owners & change of management. I don’t know if this will improve things or not. RC have always been biased towards the commercial side rather than the retail side. You need to be persistent if you want to get anywhere.
