He has left the forum yes. I'm his dad so I know some of what has been happening with the seats. He has changed to the wider seat since the originals were fitted. There are pros and cons with the narrow and wide so it is very much a personal choice I would say. I have only ever managed out with him a few times with narrow and wide seats so I'm not best placed to comment on how they are after many uses.

he runs the scotseats at about half the recommended pressure most of the time but that again is a personal choice. If he is out and caught in rough he occasionally will pump the shock up a touch.

I do not know if he has tried ullman or not sorry. If you want to know anything specific though Rick if you PM me I can ask him?

Bit of news about Shark suspension jockey seats... they are now the preferred choice for chase-boats at world-class sailing events and will be seen at next SailGP and America's Cuip events on all 33 chase boats. They were also used for the Royal chase boat at the last America's Cup and the recent Invictus Games. Some early videos here:

Out of interest the starboard seat on the RIB at the beginning of the video (22 seconds) in Post 2 appears to be different from the seat in the test (28 seconds).

I've attached a link to quite an interesting article on console design which would be applicable to all seats and not just Ullmans. I'm just gathering the courage to offset my steering wheel.
