Ribeye A600 Playtime with Yamaha 100hp Four Stroke Outboard
Hi,
I have acquired a 2008 Ribeye A600 Playtime with Yamaha 100hp Four Stroke Outboard with less than 250 hours usage, on a galvanised roller trailer. It is in very good condition and has been well maintained.
I have no idea how much the current market value is for insurance purposes and the classified ads I have looked at vary widely in price.
Can somebody give me a rough idea of how much the Rib, motor and trailer are worth please?
Many thanks.

A good place to start would be what you paid for it - is that not the market value?

I assume you are asking since you got it at a value you believe to be not the market value...
If so look at equivalent makes in a similar size - cobra, tornado, Avon, ballistic, with similar engines. Running hours tend to make more of a difference than age.
Other options
1 - ask a marine surveyor
2 - ask a broker
3 - ask you insurance company and be honest and say you don't know what to insure it for. They can look and see what else is on their books.
Finally, always over estimate the value for insurance purposes. If you have a total loss claim and you are under insured you may only get a proportion of the insured value back.

He didn't mention buying it...

That is true Mr Wilk...in that case a bit of research the for sale forum or B&O for similar size / age craft would be a good starting point. Whoever the OP accquired it from wou.d have an idea of the last insured value.

Or unless
- He inherited it
- He accepted it in part payment for a debt
- He found it adrift
- He bought it cheap in an Ebay auction that was badly listed.
- He won it at Poker

It seems the word 'Acquired' has cased some debate.
Please let me clarify.
I have BOUGHT a 2008 Ribeye A600 Playtime with Yamaha 100hp outboard. I think I have bought a bargin and paid below market value.
I have looked at various boat sale sites and the prices for similar boats are way more than I paid.
https://www.rightboat.com/boats-for-...e/600/rb176960
https://www.rightboat.com/boats-for-...ytime/rb177002
I don't want to under insure it, so wanted to seek advice from members of Rib.net.
Maybe the best way forward is to take the boat to a local chandler and boat sales shop and ask them.

Go for £22,000
I am afraid you seldom get a simple answer to a simple question on here

In my experience, simple questions are rarely as simple as they first appear to be.

Ribeye A600 - under offer

How much???
For an 8 year old boat, they are optimistic - I know it's the asking price, but a bit steep surely?
