Ribeye outfit on ebay
I was looking at possibly buying a smaller size RIB and I bid on this one on ebay
Item no. 271056731713
However it ended without reaching the reserve price, I emailed the seller and he says the reserve is set at £4700.
Is this reasonable? It's a big step up in price from my Zodiac SIB (which we are going to keep hold of)
Also the listing was "private" and when I asked the seller why, he basically said he wasn't sure, that he's not experienced with ebay and he thinks it might be "ebay security"
I had to give the item number as I don't know how to copy the ebay link, if anybody can tell me how to do it.

I would ask Ribeye for a quote for a new one and see how that compares?

If you check out his feedback he has been selling items on ebay since september 2004!!

From Ribeye the outfit is over £7,000 but with a different engine, and it looks like the new one has a seat/steering wheel rather than tiller steering.
He says he specified an Evinrude ETEC 25hp as it was "far better than the Yamaha" supplied as standard.

2011 Ribeye TS370 RIB inflaitable sports. Only used 6 times, immaculate condition | eBay
Well is it worth it to you for £4700 if not don’t buy it simple, or make him a offer you are willing to pay & leave it on the table for him to decide! End of the day he dose not have to sell it & might not at this price! You may find it still on the market in December & his asking price may have dropped, your call.

Fair enough, I may make him an offer, but just wanted some idea as to whether it was a good buy at that price.

Looks small for a 3.7 in the first pic unless its just the angle?
Oh and Evinrudes better than Yamahas? Tell him to wash his mouth out with soap !

Seems expensive at £4,700 for such a small rib, and the bespoke fuel-tank is just plug-ugly. Seems to me the current owner wants to recoup their investment on something that just hasn't worked out - only 2 hours use.
Will Marine have a Ribeye 400 just now with a Yamaha 20hp That's a better package in my opinion for another £1k(ish)

I offered him a bit less than his reserve and he never replied to my message.
I don't really have much more than £4k to spend, so that Ribeye 400 is out of my price range.

I'd think £4k will buy you quite a nice little 3.5m- 4m RIB over the winter. It wont be 'new' but will be decent enough.
Forget the one on ebay - there will be loads of others out there. I picked up a decent enough 4m Avon ( see thread ' Another small rib purchase' ) for next to nothing at the 'height of summer' ( if it ever got high ? )

I sold an ex display 4m Ribeye (c/w jockey console & brand new trailer) for less than £3k earlier on in the season - keep looking, you'll find better value elsewhere.
