Thank you everyone for your kind words, and thank you for coming.
I enjoyed it as much as everyone else.
Seeing so many people enjoying themselves and spending time with a bunch of such good friends made it all worth while, as Biff said it all went a bit too quick, so next year we'll find a way to extend it a little.
The Lightship did us proud with the Christmas decorations and standard of food.
As Hightower says the awards will mean more when the recipients start posing pictures of them on their mantle pieces, but below is the list of 'winners'.
I should mention of course that not all the Trophys were made by me, and that two of the older ones, and indeed the best ones, the RIB TICKLER and the RIB Scuplture were made by Hightower a few years ago now.
There was talk of me arranging a 'Summer Ball' which I'll put some thought to.
Nasher.

Nos
Well done, The Purple Helmet looks cool on your mantle piece
Mind you I'm wondering how long Sixy will let it stay there.

My mantle piece
Nasher
Great evening enjoyed meeting everyone - thanks for organising.
We had a colder night aboard than we had hoped for. Mr Eiberspacher was not playing ball!
Thanks for the longest distance cruise award, to Bryn and me - now displayed on the mantle piece.
See you all on the water soon
cheers
Paul

Great pictures, glad to see they are being displayed with "pride".
Just want to add my thanks to Nasher for putting it all together, good job. Good to meet up with old & new, sorry had to rush away somewhat, the mother-in-law was not well and Mrs 250kts wanted to get back to check on her.

Many thanks all - it was a great evening and a wonderful opportunity to "try" and put names and faces together - no doubt I'll have failed terribly
Nasher - thank you for organizing - it was a huge success and very much appreciated.
Ummmm okay - not too sure about the next bit - so I get a trophy for being the gobbiest newcomer to RIBnet and then another trophy for the most disastrous voyage of 2009 - wonderful - so glad I have made my mark on RIBnet in such a memorable way
Seriously - thank you all - it's great to have been made so welcome and have met so many generous, enthusiast and slightly mad people
As we don't yet have a mantle piece ...... Knot Yet 2 get back here with your hammer and nails ...... I've taken a picture of each with our crusty sea dog Mitzy
Thanks again

..... and (as a separate post because I can't figure out the formatting of the site) a repeated message of how nice it was to see so many friends again and to meeting others and many thanks once more (repeated from yesterday) to Nasher for his wonderful organisation.
Mrs A and I are already looking forward to the Summer Ball (carriages by boat) and to seeing you all (and others) over the coming months.
David

Whilst I think about it, perhaps some of you could offer an opinion.
This time the event took place at the beginning of Feb partly by accident, but in my opinion it worked well.
I for one end up with a very busy schedule for all sorts of reasons in the last few weeks before Christmas, and presume other people do as well, so it’s harder to find a date to suit the majority in those last few weeks of the year. Inevitably there will be some people who want to join us that can’t due to works functions, family commitments etc.
In the first few weeks after Christmas everyone is recovering from the excesses that the holiday season brings. Financially, diet, and detox wise it’s a sombre time for most.
As such I think the beginning of Feb worked well, and would like to suggest the same for next year unless the majority disagree.
What do you think?
Nasher.

Sounds like a good night was had and suitable prizes dished out. Its a shame I couldn't make it. I am keen to hear more about Avocet in Newtown .........
I will make sure I can make a summer ball.
