We used to have a "RIB Tickler" award which is a bent prop. If whoever has it gives it up, we could present it to Alex?

We have the 'Purple Helmet' award somewhere....
(I don't-I gave it up for someone more deserving but can't remember who won it that year)

There's a really nice trophy that was awarded to RIBnetter of the year at the xmas get togethers and it's about time it found a new home, couldn't remember who the last person to win it was. I seem to remember Biffer winning it one year. Perhaps Nasher would like to come along to remind us all.
I can't find the photo of the entire trophy but this was the RIB in the making, it was sat on a wooden base.
Okay, I've tracked down a photo on RIBnet, still don't Know who the last person to win it was.

I've just seen a photo of it sat on your mantle piece
But you handed it over at the 2011 Xmas Dinner to David (Avocet)

Oh no, got it. It's only got Avocet down as the Purple Helmet winner though.

Despite missing out 2012, and being more of a spectator on here these days due to other priorities in life, illness etc, I wouldn't mind doing another X-mas meal.
You do learn not to trust people you don't know very well though.
The vast majority of people who attended them were great, but over the few years:
I had several people turn up, eat their dinner, then try to wriggle out of paying as they expected everyone else or me to pay for them.
One little Shit tried far too hard but was soon taught some respect.
Lots of people book a meal them not turn up.
Which was why I ended up wanting money up front.
People promise to return the trophies for the next event then lose them or not turn up with them. This was annoying as between Hightower and myself we made them all. EG the Golden Helmet above.
Loads of general grief about the menus or locations from people who had no intention of helping with the organisation. Wa***rs.
Nasher.

Ahhh yes, the stripping woman in the yacht
Another Xmas meal would be damn good, if you're up for it? I'd offer, but location is an issue here.

I would have thought a BBQ type event on the mainland in the Summer, bring your own food and BBQ. If we could find somewhere near a pontoon so that some could bring their RIBs or SIBs for a play?
BTW the Spanner Trophy presented to me is sat right next to me on the window sill.
PS: Didn't one of the Ducks make it's way to Iceland with Bogi, if I remember right it was photographed on the wing of some rescue 4x4 with the Volcano in the background spewing it's guts in to the Sky

I must agree wholeheartedly with Al. Very very difficult. Also you have to remember if you do any kind of bash under the Ribnet banner that is a very wide membership in terms of geography.

I would recommend slightly further Norf due to the language barrier ... at least Northerners and southerners can understand each other but "Brum"
