I'm having the same problem with Mrs G.
Please count me in for one - I'll try Biffer's suggestion and if two of us turn up you'll know it worked!

Trevor.
Hi.
Unfortunately I'll need to know beforehand who's coming and who's not.
As I posted before it will be pre-booked and pre-payed.

All
Apologies for the delay, but the Menu is now confirmed as below, so I’d appreciate having everyone’s choices by the 26th Feb.
The cost will be £27 per head, which includes a very minimal charge for the room, which I’ll also need by about the 26th.
I'll PM my address to those who have already showed an interest over the weekend, and will send it out to anyone else as and when they ask for it.
The private room we’ll be in is very nice, with plenty of space and large windows overlooking the interesting scenery of the fishing port. They’ll also lay on a separate bar for us so we don’t have to queue downstairs.
Menu
Starters
Devilled Whitebait served with a salad garnish, brown bread and homemade tartare sauce.
or
Dusted Chilli Squid rings served with a salad garnish & a citrus mayonnaise.
or
Homemade country vegetable Soup
Mains
Sirloin Of Beef in a cream, Stilton & walnut sauce, served with fresh steamed vegetables & new potatoes.
or
Chicken Breast in a cream & white wine sauce served with new potatoes and fresh steamed vegetables.
or
Char-Grilled Whole Mackerel stuffed with rosemary & lemon, served with a rocket & red onion salad & roasted new potatoes.
(Took the Opportunity to sample this today from their specials board and had the menu changed afterwards )
or
Mushroom, Courgette & Parmesan Risotto, served with a spinach, red onion & cherry tomato salad.
(The token Veggie option)
Desserts
Homemade Mixed Fruit crumble served with a choice of custard, cream or vanilla ice cream.
or
Banana & Amaretto Cheesecake served with butterscotch sauce.
or
Chocolate Profiteroles.
Nasher.

Nasher,
I blame both Andy and Biff; Mrs M is still saying she needs to look after the nippers so it's just me - looking forward to it

Was last year so bad? I too am having trouble getting Mrs 250 along! So looks like it will be dinner for one, how sad. Will confirm shortly.
Just an observation - why two fish starters? Limits the options a little
Thanks for making the effort to get this sorted, it is alot of work
Steve

Squid are Cephalapods, as fishy as Herring Gull Liver Pate
Vegetable soup is a touch Pedestrian, but eternally popular.
Mrs willk wanted to go to this one but we have a family wedding on the 4th

Whitebait and squid rings fresh out of the freezer this evening Sir.
I have a policy, having been in the fishy business for a few years. If I see a mackeral on a menu for more than £10, I ask for my coat back.

Er, lived there for 11 years, many of my formative years included saturday nights in Pompey great times - but the idea of a "bigger bird" in Pompey

What we really need now is a few more people to sign up, as unlike in previous years where I've had to increase the numbers with the restaurant, we're in danger of not having enough at the moment.

Wish I could join you all, I really enjoyed meeting everyone last year.
To anyone who is unsure about going, I'd definitely recommend it; everyone I met was so nice in 'real life'
Have a great time everyone, have fun

Count me in. Menu choices and cheque for full payment are in the post tonight. Although she'd like to, Mrs A unfortunately can't make it (she's singing in a concert in Poole) and, whilst I'm working on Scurvy Crew, I'm not hopeful. So it'll probably be me on my own.
Any idea of time? Since the pub is near the station, I'm thinking of coming by train from Bournemouth and there's one that gets into Portsmouth at 18.52 calling at Christchurch and New Milton having left Poole at 17.07 if anyone wants to join me. The last train back leaves Portsmouth at 23.24.

Mmm, I had not solved the problem of transport yet - pity the last train is so early................David, I'll keep my options open on this if you don't mind.
