Yeah I think GD has a fleet set up. Ours only worked briefly at the start of the season and briefly at the end due to a defective GPS unit which took a fair bit of following up to obtain a replacement for. Should be working for next season now though

French CG received a weak dsc signal from the number he gave above. Mars database is a dead end. They found this thread and called me

I am quite impressed by the French CG diligence. I hope whoever was the sender of that signal is safe and well. As Willk says unlikely to now be Leapy.

Quite possible I suppose that the signal was corrupt and gave the wrong number. Not heard anything more anyway.

Yes, bothering to do a google for a strange MMSI number does seem surprisingly diligent, and you can easily imagine a scenario where it could pay dividends.
