Ribquest
Hi Guys
Once I have sold my Avon 580 I anm looking to buy either
Ribcraft 6.8 or Ribquest 7.3
I have lots of info on the Ribcraft but not so much on the Ribquest.
Can anyone help me on what the 7.3 is like to own & run.
Is the build quality as good they say ?
what is it like to tow ?
Thx

Hi mines a 6.4 Ribquest and i have to say the build quality is 1st class its up there with the best. I don't think the new owners will let the standards slip. When Dave Rose owned the Company you could not wish to meet a more dedicated honest reliable man who was proud of the Ribs he built, and turned Ribquest into a top make
Mine is commercial spec and handles the rough superbly i don't think you will go wrong with which ever you choose Ribquest Ribcraft 2 of the best on the market

Having seen both Nitrox and TTs boats, they both look excellent quality. Was nitroxs boat done by the new owners Tony?
I'd prefer them to the rib craft. Though on resale, rib craft have a much longer and much more widely known name/history. I'd guess easier to sell and probably worth more. Something to bear in mind when forking out such a wad of cash.
Either are a large step up from the Avon adventure

Many Thx for the reply.
I have been very impressed with the ribcraft and yes the resale has to be a taken in to account.
both boats have the flexability in design that I require but the Ribquest has a wider beam which would make towing a bit of an issue in deep dark Wales.
Again many Thx.
ps have met Domino several times out of Aber but lost contact details when pc went pop

Hi
I also own a Ribquest 6.3 made by Dave Rose, indeed a very nice man, honest too. I am very pleased with my Ribquest and I can say I can go along with the bigger guys owning a Osprey or XS rib (in Belgium) But that's maybe I like to push the trottle harder. I don't know the new owners are as dedicated as Dave was (In fact I doubt it) and as for resale: it is more a ecomically issue than a brand issue. Those days it is hard to sell anything. One good advice if you go for thr Ribquest: make sure you put a 150hp on it. It is after all a heavily built boat and these extra horses will give more pleasure. Hope this helps

Agreed, sub 150 is just not enough.... eh TT
Seriously though, i see what youre saying but Tony Ts 6.3 with commercial tubes is great for cruising and that only has a 140 4stroke. Though i personally would want the punch of more horses being stroked twice when in the rough, just for responsiveness really.

I also have a 140hp Suzuki. Think a Evinrude 150 (ho) will give the right amount of punch with a lilltle more weight at the back. But

Yep, our 6.3 Humber OP with 175 opti has a nice punch when you need it from the V6 to climb over wave. (At the start of the season with no weed) Though when i pull up alonside Tony T to tell him how I'm going to accelerate past him he can't hear me due to the noise it makes. I like it though!
