Ribs n Parachute

Has anyone tried to parachute behind a rib?? ok ok dont laugh"!!!
does the parachute create too much lift and will it make the prop cavitate too much ,or maybe it would lift the boat out o0f the water,,etc etc
ok someone has bound to have tried it!!
basically i know to launch in the water will be impossible but a running beach launch???
any ideas,
Or
a couple of power kites in tandem!!!

Can it be done??

Well plenty of boats used for parascending are no bigger or faster than many RIBs - it is all down to the position of the towing point etc. Also most paracenders have a hefty winch mounted onto the boat.

Prompted me to have a quick look on the net

Nice looking boats from a British company.

You don't want a parascender, you want a Manta Ray - check this out:

Available from here:

Much cooler!

Both of those are slightly different products to the Manta Ray, although I admit it doesn't look particularly safe! I'd still like a go though

I think you'll need a bigger boat!

i think your right, the amount of lift it will produce will lift the boat too much, or the other idea, not quite so powerful but a couple of power kites liked or a single 5 mtr one!! ive seen those in action and i reckon even at slow speed it will get you airbourne, just need to get a harnesss ! will look into it,
