Ribtec 1st purchase

Hi guys, new to this.
Looking to purchase my 1st RIB, it’s a ribtec 585 with a 150 HP 2 stroke Yamaha. I’m struggling to find a way not to buy this boat, there isn’t a mark or blemish on the boat!
The price is eye watering tho, are these worth 10k plus in original condition with 100 hours?

Hi there, yes I'd say it is if it is near perfect with only 100 hours on it.

I had a 535 10 years ago, sold it for a brand new Solent 540 (same hull) and are now back to another Ribtec 535.

In my view they are quality well built good sea going boats that if looked after should last for years and years

Yamaha are the best engines and the two strokes are the best Yamaha's, some may challenge that.

100 hours is fantastic, you could pay less for a boat and then end up spending loads to sort it out. If it's what you want and it fits in terms of colour and spec etc., I'd buy it quick before someone else does.

Only my view, it's your call. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the response, my apologies tho, it’s actually a 645 model, I measured incorrectly!

£10k for what you have described is a steal. Get it bought before someone else takes it.

We haven’t seen it and only have your description to go on, but RIBs age well if looked after and it doesn’t sound like this has had a hard life. As a rule of thumb 100 engine hours is only a couple of seasons of average leisure use.

RIBase
Decks can rot on Ribtecs.
Transoms can crack.
Not all boats though. I've got a 2002 Ribtec 585 and the deck and transom are fine. Its run 800hrs.

150hp 2 stroke Yam will like a drink but the boat will fly!

If it looks in good condition I'd say go for it.
