RIP Biffer
Just found out that Biffer has passed away, for those that remember him.
A proper craftsman and a gent while managing to be so abrasive that he could offend anyone from inside a locked room.
Spent many hours chatting on the phone to him.
I'll miss him.

Sad news, I don’t think I ever had a run in with Biffer, he always came across as a knowledgeable gent. I feel like I may have missed out somehow. RIP

Man down.
Like Pikey, I don't recall falling foul of him, and he certainly helped out a lot of folks on here. His involvement with the MacMillan RIB was the stuff of legends. I knew he'd had a brush with the big C himself and I've often wondered how life was treating him - so there it is.

Very sorry to hear that - he was super helpful with my Ribtec 9m re-deck project, and even when he couldn't do the work himself as planned due to his medical battle, he still supervised the yard doing the work and ensured they did a proper job which I was so grateful for! Couldn't have asked for a more helpful, knowledgeable and inventive guy when it came to looking after RIB's.

This really is sad news.
I've not seen him since he moved West, but often enjoyed his company before that.
He was the sort of person that some took an instant dislike to, but then 1/2hr later found him a true gent who you could spend hours chatting to.
I remember when he had his brush with Cancer years ago.
On popping round to see him, he was decorating the lounge, painting the walls, but dragging an Oxygen cylinder around the room after him connected to his mask.
It had a supermarket carrier bag over it as the guy who collected the last empty one had moaned about the paint all over it.
Does anyone know if his dream of cruising in a Beneteau Swift Trawler ever came off?
I hope it did.

A good One gone West
Very Sad to hear the news ….he was a real Character and a wealth of Sea going Knowledge
He was a ‘bit of a Boy’ in his younger days Hence his Nick Name…😉
Last time I saw him I bought a tender engine from him which is still going strong
We shared a Sir name which we joked about somewhat 😁
God Bless Old Boy and best wishes to his Wife and family
