You say tomato...

A bit like the recent royal fuss about toilets and lavatories etc.!

RIBnet operates very well as an online community. We have had so much help, met so many interesting people and have been encouraged in some great RIBbing experiences.

I won't be having a look, too happy here. There's a lot of diversity on this forum, I've not got time to write a chuffing blog let alone read somone else's and I'm planning to buy the tee shirts etc.

Just need JK to start putting together his own bimonthly mag.....wait a minute arent we on online community? he just needs to handout a deadline and wait for the copy to land on his e-desk throw it into some semblance of order and go to e-press.

The only bit I miss about RIB intl is the pictures and seeing new kit launched, I did wonder if a new kit launch area could be made on this forum somehow.

i think that if ribnet had a blog page where pictures etc could be stored and more info on boats etc etc then that would be very cool

probably a bit of work to set up but i reckon a good few folks would use it

Wouldn't a chuffing blog be a blog written by a steam train enthusiast?

I'spose we should give kudo to Rib International for finally realising that a rib forum is a good idea. Only, what 8 years behind the times?!

We've got thousands of pictures! What sort of pictures do you want to see more of?

There's no technical reason why not, and it's something that I've thought about in the past. Maybe it's something that I should have a look at again.

A while back I hinted at some new stuff that's in the pipeline for RIBnet, and this is one of the things that could happen. I'm working on getting everything integrated smoothly with the forums, but I should be able to say more in a few weeks.

Much Ado about Nuffing really!!!

Its about Freedom of Choice is it not. I used to have to wait a few months between intelligent info on boats between Rib Int Mags.
Then I found this site purely by accident and have been into it since.
I still get the mag but I have not read fully teh last edit yet.

One really only needs one Forum as there is more than enough info and people to chat to. I actually felt the challange and thus felt myself taking sides several months ago when I first found it advertised.
I am sure you will find several people who will have the time to hold identity on both and fair play to them as we will need them as "Strands" to further link the various Forums to create a small "intranet" forum of Boating information.
I am sure that JK will not mind the other people arriving. After all there is no greater compliment than copying is there not.

Finally when I needed some info on the Johnson D140 being a Suzukin in differnt cloth, a few people from this forum were able to direct me to an OZ forum so there is no end to them. I found the information most helpful.

For what its worth, I am not for changing as this forum is more than enough for me. SO bring on the summer, stretch in the evenings, clean the barbie..

Quite a few familiar Ribnet names appear on the members list of the Rib International forum I noticed.

Curiously enough, if you google ribmagazine it says "Did you mean: rob magazine"

If I sign up to RIBlife do you think the administrator would be my friend?

Somehow I don't think that HMS is ever going to be your friend any more John. I would keep a close eye on 'riblife' lest anyone say anything libellous about rib.net. In that instance I believe Messrs DF&M Beckman have expertise in attempting to strongarm innocent forum operators!

Peerless - I'd almost forgotten about that outfit! I may be able to attend Ribex this year, if so I'll be ordering then wearing as fuller Ribnet branding kit as possible.

I am new to RIBnet and not aware of the issues between the 2 sites. Ribnet is great and members have helped me out many times. When I first "googled" ribs, the first site to come up was R.I.B. Continued my search and found this forum, but i ask for forgiveness for signing up on the other site
Thanks for all the help

There's room on the internet for everyone, and I don't think anyone here really has any issues with the RIB International site. They do set themselves up a bit though when they do silly things like claiming to be the first online network for RIB users!

Hugo Montgomery Swan has been a bit heavy handed in the past, not to mention unfriendly from time to time, but we all have bad days don't we?
