river alde

Hi.
A relative of mine is moving to suffolk, the Aldeburgh area and has suggested that I might like to use my RIB from Aldeburgh. Does any one RIB from there and if so where can you launch? What's it like because the river transit down the Alde before you get out into the sea seems about 10miles? I did give the Yacht club a call but considering that I am unlikely to use the place frequently than membership to use the slip at about £250 is pretty costly.

Any thoughts!

Thanks Davej

Have ribbed from there a couple of times in a friends rib - never actually got as far as the sea. There's scope for picnicking & water sports (skiing wakeboarding etc) as the river gets quite wide and is relatively calm. So i'd say it was worth a try - I think you can pay ad hoc launch fees at Aldeburgh Yacht Club/Slaughden quay - nice wide slip useable at most tide states.

Thanks for the valuable info and the youtube clip, it all looks OK, will give the Quay a ring and check the details for launching as the Sailing club seems very costly.

Thanks Davej
