Yer...dunno how they can say its never been done before after RB4, the Army doing it in a 6.5m humber, and the last round brittain race 20 or so years ago which was won by a boat with 4 pertol outboards if i remember correctly...

The dont specify what record they are going for and as you say numerous petrol ribs and hardboats have circumnavigated UK, not the least the RB4 raid a couple of years ago (although they werent exactly children!).

However the chap who is doing it - Andy - is doing it for all the right reasons to raise the profile of a local hospice and more importantly funding for them. There is a small article about it in the latest BIBOA mag. More power to their elbow I say!

mmmmm

Best of luck to the pair of them but it has been done.
Maybe its the the fact they are trying to do it in 2 days!!

We were one of the sponsors for "Operation Rigid Lion".
That was the Amry doing it in the Humber 6.2m, to raise money for St Dunstan's.
They were most deff petrol engines.

But all power to their elbows and padding to their bums.
They are going to have to push it to do it in 2 days
Rough guess approx 40mph for 48hrs non stop.
That is going to really hurt!!!

Regards
