Rubber reinforcement

On the bow section of my Hurricane, there is a rather thick rubber reinforcement layer. This is now cracked, which don't bother me much, but it also smudges quite badly. Is there a way to stabilise this rubber coating?

You could try using some of this....

Ignore the photo, they have used a photo of a bottle of Ribshine.

Cheers

I use a similar product, and the rubber is OK for a time after "polishing", but then it starts to smudge again There are a few "inflatable paints" out there, are they any good, or will the paint just peel off after a while?
