rubbing strake and cleat fixing

boats having a bit of tlc ,ive covered the tubes and fitted new wear patches and i just need to check that i'm using the right glue on the new rubbing strake and new cleats.

i have sanded back the cleats and primed the pads with hypalon glue to leave over night before then reapplying the glue to stick.#

however the rubbing strake i have heard that this needs a pvc primer coat then hypalon over the top...?? is this right?
can i sand the strake and prime it with hypalon glue will it work ?

ive done a test piece to leave overnight but wondered if any here have any ideas.

it says it can be bonded using either.....so i didnt give it a second thought until someone mentioned priming with pvc.

That's fine just sand it right to the edge and prime it with Hypalon glue no need for the PVC glue.
