Saw this in this month's Powerboat and RIB magazine. It looks all the money and the sound track of the video is really banging, oh yes.

Hi
Saw we had a mention on ribnet and thought I would give you a bit of background on myself, my company and the idea behind the QRV. I have been Involved as a marine engineer since the 1960's working with such companies such as Universal marine and Boat Showrooms of London who through sponsorship was lucky enough to participate in events as the Putney to Calais Rally and New South coast Marathon . After this time I went on to run my own marine business to the present day.
What I hoped to achieve with the QRV package was to offer the benefits already inherent in the Sea Doo platform i.e. speed, manoeuvrability and safety, being jet drive with the added advantage of the rib attachment offering protection when mooring and also making at the same time a small craft very difficult to capsize. To this I feel I have achieved this aim.
With regards to price at £20,000 I feel that this is a very unique package, with a top end speed of 70mph and the power of a 260HP 4 stroke supercharged engine on tap. Just for reference I am sure a 200hp outboard would set you back £15,000 alone.
I really do feel that this package can offer a lot of things to the rescue services, harbour patrols, military or even owners of super yachts wanting a fast tender but without the stability issues present in the current range of PWC.
The feedback I have received by people who have tried the QRV has been nothing but positive and given Tim's background in this field I would be more than happy to invite him down to our premises in Eversley cross to demonstrate the QRV

Nice idea. Looks a huge amount of fun as well.
You're not the 1st one to try it though and the other are all off the market now. What makes yours different?

Incidentally, comparing with a 200hp outboard that's likely to make 3000 hours between rebuilds is a bit cheeky-how long between rebuilds on the Seadoo?

Ok Tim

See if we can arrange something when you get back!

Hi Nos4r2

The engine in the Sea Doo that the Qrv is based around is the Rotax 4 stroke with closed loop cooling system, I have no reason to believe that it would not be good for the same 3000 Hours you quote for the 200 outboard. I would also add that this is the same engine that Sea Doo fit in their £56,000 Sea Doo Challenger 23ft boat, so I would say that BRP see this as quality product.

As to what make our design different, to be honest I wasn't aware of any similar product and certainly nothing built to withstand the forces that can be put on a craft designed to go 70mph and using the s3 Hull shape.
