RYA on the ball

This a good example of the RYA at its best by preventing the introduction of more boating related legislation (meddling) from the EU.

Below is an extract from the RYA press release with a link to the complete article:

The RYA has been successful in getting a proposed legislative article, put forward by a Dutch MEP to a revision of the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD), removed.
There has been considerable concern about the European Parliament’s latest amendments to a revision of the RCD.
In particular an amendment which urged the commission to: consider submitting proposals to harmonise watercraft licences at Union level, to encourage regular technical checks and to prevent tax evasion by discouraging the use of agricultural diesel.

Good for them, it's not agricultural but commercial diesel and its only supposed to be available to commercial operators
