RYA Scotland Powerboat Committee Events & News 2013

RYA Scotland Powerboat Committee Events & News 2013

The RYA Scotland Powerboat Committee have been working hard in developing & supporting a programme of Events across Scotland.

This included in helping out a various events including the Scout Regatta , Windfest 2012 and helping with safety cover for Queensferry Swim.

In October 2012, this saw us in-conjunction with Longcraigs Scout Centre running an Youth Powerboating Event – full report of this can found [here]

We are pleased that 2013 we are planning to expand the range events in both Youth & Adult Training and Cruising.

Upcoming Events

• 1st June – Forth Open Powerboat Cruise – The 3 Island Hop - More details [here]
• 8th June RYA Honda Youth Rib Regional Final – Strathclyde park – More details [here]

If you have not yet indicated who may be coming from your organisation to the RYA Honda Youth RIB Scottish Regional Final, then please do so as soon as possible – please email gail.joyce@ryascotland.org.uk with your details – thanks!

We are looking to run similar events like the Longcraigs Event across Scotland, but to do this we need the help and support of Commercial Teaching Centre & Club’s to provide use with suitable venues. We can pay for reasonable expenses & provide recognition of your support, but we need folk to help us invest in the future of our sport.

We have published a guide to safety boating on our website, that is a good introduction to providing safety boat cover in club environments. These can be downloaded from [here]. We have also produced a poster regarding the use of Killcords, which is attached to this email for your use.

Remember the RYA Scotland Powerboat Committee are here to help you and if you need advice contact us and we will help or connect to the right person.

If you think you can help us, or get involved with us please PM me.

Hopefully see you at an Event or talk to you soon.

Regards

Scott Roberts
Chair of RYA Scotland Powerboat Committee

PS. Still time to sign up for the Forth Cruise
