Richard Cranium.........
Well that's interesting, besides the obvious Richard Cranium actions, there is a speed limit on that part of the river (opposite the Halton army camp) and also, no powered craft except for the rowing club safety boats.
Special permission's used to be given for safety boats for raft races etc.
But the main concern as far as I am concerned is this guy could be taking your / mine kids out on these boats.

I agree with your sentiments completely, I spent most of my junior years on that part of the river (School had boathouse a little lower down and sailing club kept all its boats at the army camp. ), lovely place to be.

Shame that.
The stern expression. The military shirt. The badges on the epaulettes. The defaced red ensign.
So self important ..........I found it difficult to resist a salute.

Just had a look at their website and all that's missing is Captain Mainwaring.

" Although we are recognised by the Royal Navy..." - probably in an "Oh, gawd it's that lot again" sense.
Why am I reminded of the retired admiral in Mary Poppins?

I'd naively assumed that it was some worthy organisation aimed at keeping kids off street corners, not a bunch of "portly" old duffers playing "hello sailor"

There are a few pictures on their website and Facebook page tat suggests they don't likes using killcords.
I'd be a lot worried if they were taking young people out on the water.
Mark.
