Like I said good to have choices.

As for the hard way I don't think trying summit for £11 delivered that can be used for other things I do is too much of a 'hard way' to be honest.

I now know about the motor cycle face mask thing which I would not know about so another choice and something to try oddly also £11 delivered

Personally I don't like the gecko - the visor rising up doesn't do it for me.

A Gath delux on the other hand, where the visor rises inside the helmet is the best for me and can be found carried onboard.

Saftey Helmet

It is. I've worn it with spray and rain and it stops my face getting shot blasted!

That seems like it might be a good option. Also possible to fit a motorcycle intercom in it possibly to speak from one rid to another... Thanks for the heads up

More stylish than the builders hat. I expect the mask is to mitigate the petrol fumes.

I use these, great at keeping the spray off, head warm, and with the smoked visor internally keeps the sun out of the eyes as well.

Very comfortable and easy to get on and off plus doesnt restrict hearing the VHF too much.

Those Portwest helmets are supplied to fuel tanker drivers by a couple of the employment agencies as a cheap 'starter' piece of PPE.

Don't bother. The visors scratch very badly very quickly-they scratch themselves as they retract- and they don't keep anything off at all. They aren't comfortable with a woolly hat underneath either.

Most bin them as soon as they can get to somewhere that sells better.
