Salcombe Exmouth Torquay Poole

Having a bit of a round trip this weekend - leaving Salcombe tomorrow afternoon to go to Exmouth for the Poker run (Sunday) and a Barby on Saturday night, then after the boaty bit I'm off to Torquay to stay at the girlfriends for the evening and meet up with the RAF guys that we're doing the Charity run with to Poole on Monday morning. Also coming along is Dave Cockman (organiser of the Poker Run) in Cider Daze (www.ciderdaze.co.uk) and a Phantom Evolution which will mean we'll have 3 aircrew in each boat. Should be in Poole well before lunch, so we'll have a chance to refuel and head back to Devon in the afternoon, and down the pub for a pint after taking the boat out - job done!

Sorry I couldn't make it down to the harbour but I don't get half days

Had a look for you Sunday night but couldn't see the boat on the pontoon.

I was in the Marina on Sunday night - turned on the lights for the RAF boys - we've got red LEDs shining on the deck, and red "neon string" lighting up the dash with red and green around the "A" frame moulding and it looked stunning!

It ended up with myself with 4 RAF pilots and aircrew with another 3 in "Blaze" (thanks Josh!), a Phantom Evolution with another 3 in, we got from Torquay to the chain ferry at Poole in 2 hours with several rest stops - it seems that 45 to 55 MPH in a RIB causes aircrew to need to "rest" quite often - nothing at all to do with the vast quantities of beer drunk the night before of course! Was sorry Dave couldn't make it in cider daze (www.ciderdaze.co.uk) but he needed some tube work doing after the weekend (sorry mate!).

The Poker run was a big success, and I'll stick some photos up when I remember to bring the camera in to download it! The Exe powerboat and ski club are a great lot and the party on Saturday night was legendry as well - never seen so many people in a hot tub!

Looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend in Poole for the races,
