Scilly Isles Monday 23rd July

Decided to take the rib over to the Scilly Isles next Monday for the week (coming back on Friday).

Firstly does anyone want to convoy over with us? There's only me and the mrs going so might be able to take a couple of 'hitch hikers' if anyone is interested?

Secondly does anyone know where I might be able to leave the car and trailer in Penzance for 5 days? (or recommend any other slipways locally) I don't really want to take the rib from Falmouth due to the extra distance involved.

Finally does anyone have any up to date information regarding diving compressors and contact numbers for air fills on the isles as we're planning on only taking 1 scuba tank each due to taking spare fuel and other junk.

Thanks!

As far as I know Jim Heslin is still the best contact for air on St Mary's, he pumps air for a couple of the diving boats over there. Tim Allsopp on St Martins has a compressor but these folk don't keep shop hours, I think most of the numbers you need are at this page below:

There's supposed to be a big new compressor being installed on St Mary's quay for all the diving boats to use and supply visiting divers too, all funded by regional development money! I don't think it's up & running yet though.

Unless you can suss cheap parking, you will be 'gang raped' for parking fees for that period for leaving your gear in a public carpark frequented by the Saxo brigade at night. Add to that a narrow tide window.

Mylor/Fal is cheap, secure and the run from here to PZ is spectacular.
