Scorpion 8.1 advice

Hi all,

I recently purchased a 2000 Scorpion 8.1. She is listing slightly to starboard so I assume there is water trapped under the deck.

Is there any way to get this water out without drilling holes? Or is there another potential issue?

The boat still seems to handle well so it cant be too much water. Bilges are all dry

Interesting thread here: https://www.rib.net/forum/f8/scorpion-ribs-76096.html

Before you start drilling holes, can you access cable trunk, witches hat, etc? You can pump out any water there.

I have the same boat and mine does the same but only slightly.

I got a cheap manual pump from Amazon which had a small dia. tube to poke around with and managed to get a bit out of all the nooks and crannys.

Also note the engines are mounted offset to the starboard side (at least mine is) so I just assume it will also sit to onside slightly anyway

I have had water in cable trays and underneath cable trays. Also under the middle bilge well., Scorpion used to fit a panel across keel where the deck drain bilge sits. It makes a flat surface but can trap water. Also water can get trapped outside of the knees in the hull and the drain holes through knees can get blocked (if you have any)

Single or twin engine? single engine boats try to lay to port with a conventional gearbox and prop, especially when planing or excess trim in. I counteracted that by moving weight starboard and centring the engine. Could you move battery or oil if you don't find any water?
