Scum on tubes.

After the rib being in the water for a couple of weeks, some scum/pre-weed growth on the tubes towards the stern. I take it that this is a common problem and didn't know what everyones solution was to get rid of it?

Try and get it off before it goes black else it will then be very difficult to remove. I have the same problem on my boat and what I do is go down at low tide on a warm day when the gunk and weed have dried then remove it all with a green washing up pad. After that I apply a few layers of surfboad wax which will retard the growth for a few months. It's a nuisance but not the end of the world as it won't damage the tubes in any way no matter how much growth there is.

Ecover washing liquid, scouring pad and wax (surfboard or car)
