got a new to me avon searider 4m which is still the original set up and the plate at the back says the serial number is 00008 would this make it the 8th one built ? thanks

The serial number is on the righthand side of the rear of the transom or on the tubes near the deck at the bow on the right.

The last two numbers are the year

your 00008 number may have been stamped buy the dealer? but it's not the sn number as it starts with AVB
