-The best Jap Import 4x4 to tow with

-Who can chine walk the best

Are these events sponsored by duck tape as allot of the sea rider boys cover their tubes in it.

Poor standard of trailers

Just heard on the news "AA are suprised at the number of callouts on the main routes south for people with broken trailers. Never before have they seen such poor standards of boat trailer maintenance, with extreme cases using scaffolding to hold boats up" Rumour has it they will be monitoring future gatherings of Searider meets and drafting in extra man power!

I spotted this fine example in Alderney at the weekend. I think this is the best example of the use of gaffer tape I've seen yet - used to hold the engine lid down, used to reupholster the seat (ply console of course) and used extensively to hold the front of the tube onto the hull. Good work

Wow that's better than mine. And thanks for the reminder about the AA, not sure I've got enough gaffa tape left to make it to the next Gathering to get the other side of the trailer fixed!

Gaffa tape fetishist alert

My SR4 isn't really held together with gaffa tape, honest... it just looks like it where the previous owner has put a load of fibreglass strips or something to reinforce it underneath. It's quite amusing cos it does look like orange gaffa tape. The trailer has a small amount of tape in a non-structural role.

My car is another story, it would seem most of the electrics in it really are just taped together.

Shaz - glad to hear it's not a real fetish but there is something about owners of Seariders that I'm finding quite disturbing - trouble is I feel as if I belong
