sealing vhf radio

sure it's been discussed in the past,I just can't find it,but having just fitted a new vhf radio there seems to be quite a gap between the console and the radio ie. it's not flush with the console, what's the best sealant to fill that gap.I see most people use sikafix but that seems way to permenant.

any advice welcome.

Cheap bathroom sealant and don't prep the surfaces too well - peels off easily then...
