OK everyone
Well I Finally got to look at the rib after a five hour drive down to south Wales and I must admit on first inspection of the thing it looked quite tidy (in the dark), I decided to stop over and arranged to have another look this morning, After a sleepless night I arrived bright and early to look at the rib and it was pretty much as I had thought but not quite as tidy,
I inspected the hull and noticed a few scrapes and scratches which will need sorting, the tubes were in good condition with a couple of patches all to be expected for a boat of its age, I then ran the engine which was in very good condition, was well greased and ran up fine with a good flow of water, One thing I didn't like was the deck, It had been painted with some gray none slip paint which was peeling off and looked poor this would have to come off to get it back to the original orange colour. Anyway after a lot of nagotiation and a cup of tea we agreed a price and the deal was done, yes it will need some work, but believe i got a great boat at an even greater price.
Could I thank you all for your advice past and present
Oh: forgot to mention the brackets on the hull were lifting davits (very heavy duty) and definatly original
Mark
