Searider 5.4m with Honda 75

Hi

Considering the above in Navy spec to replace my 4.8m Lencraft with 75 Mercury 2 stroke which is hugely entertaining but maybe a bit jumpy in waves which I love but family not so keen on!

Thoughts on a Searider with a BF75? Seems quite a heavy engine, I presume it could still tow a skier etc?

Cheers

TK

I've driven an SR5.4 with a Honda 90, which is basically the same motor as the 75 and it was fine. With the right prop, twill pull a skier, no problem.

in my more slender, youthfull days, i used to ski from a 5.4 with a mariner 40.
we had to run round and empty the hull first then go come back for me, then get going before the hull filled

Thanks for the input chaps, sounds like it may not be the best setup i.e. 90HP 2 stroke Yam but prob OK with a 75 Honda. Any idea on top speed with that? My current setup does about 35 knots but I guess you would be lucky to see 30 knots with a heavy 75 on the 5.4 SR?

We ran a 5.4 SR with a 75 old school 2S mariner and it pulled 15 stoners out the water. Then put a 90 opti on and it flew!

Possibly, stoners do prefer to keep off the pies and on the grass.
