Might be worth me buying to break up.... I'd like to bet the motor is siezed solid and the trailer looks shagged (look at the bunk in the bottom right picture). Cheers!

Tell ya what keytouch, you wanna split it? I want the motor but nothing else-just for the cosmetics/spares on it-it's the same as mine. Assuming it's siezed I'll happily give you £75 for it-or give me a price/whatever.There's no way it's any good after 5 years of standing. Was just gonna re-ebay the rest.

If an outboard is seized, is it completely knackered?
Would it not be possible strip down the outboard and un-seize it?

After 5 years standing I doubt it very much. They are great engines when running, but don't bother if they don't-it'll cost more to fix than it will to buy a running one-that engine is at least 22 years old and not the easiest thing to find spares for either.
You'll have a bugger of a job unsiezing it and the likelihood is that the bores will be damaged by the act of unsiezing-if the crank isn't trash by now anyway.
Best bet with that boat would be to buy it then buy a running motor for it.

I sent him a question asking if it was siezed or not and he hasn't replied yet.
Until he replies I would assume that it is siezed solid. He has a nice 'get-out' in one of the questions for anyone who expects it to be ok.
By the way, notice the position of the bow to the winchpost. The boat doesn't appear to fit the trailer (is that a bicycle lock holding it on?) and would be dangerous to tow like that.

I've looked at several ebay seariders and IMHO you do really need to go and see before bidding as it is very easy to misdescribe and/or false photograph - having said that my current boat, bought off ebay as it didn't reach reserve, was stored for 5 years and so far no nasties have come to light - I was reassured by healthy compression readings and a can of fogging oil that had evidently been used - great boats but not indestructible

It does annoy me when people don't let e-bay auctions run their course.
I mean if they want a certain amount then thats what reserves are for.
Fair enough if they say in the advert that it is for sale elsewhere, but this guy didn't.
Oh well, well done to the buyer anyway and I hope you have lots of fun with it.

I agree - thats the point of "Buy it now"!
Either its a coincidence or it was "BigMike35" that bought it?

It doesn't help that ebay's new final value fee for vehicles selling between £0.01 & £2000 is a standard £15-hence if you let the auction run it's course you end up paying a minimum of £21 in fees. Found that out when I sold my 'drive to work' banger last month for under £100.
