thank you biggles!! Nos, i got 37 knts at 5300 rpm, need more speed!!i dont think there is any difference , this boat does weigh more, the consol is really heavy and carrying 66 lts ,so maybe that combined is a contributing factor but overall really pleased!!

It rides about the same as mine looking at the video. Looks awesome too!

I think we need to meet up and bring a prop spanner so we can play with a couple of my props and see what we can get it to do. .

hi matt nice searider, job well done.

Ive been luck enoth to try 3 sizes of prop on mine, the best all rounder was a 17" titan stainless, has given me 40kts light or 38knts with 80ltrs fuel 1 on board. the standard allum prop was giving 36kts

The good thing with the titan is the grip in the routh stuff and the acceleration, plus it wots at 5100 @ 40kts

hope i get your pics for your spare aframe (mines been destroyed)

Hi Matt,
great looking rib.
You wrote that the transom board was refit.
It means, the wooden inside was changed or it was sealed and reconditioned?
I am wondering , if the transom board could be pulled out .
Mine was converted to short shaft and i have to do some work to fit a longsahft again.

Greetings from Germany
Mike

Beautiful job Matt.

If you ever get tired of the comfort of that console - give me a shout. lol.

You make me feel very guilty as I have done next to nothing on mine this winter. Having said that I have no garage and also have a 12 week old son in the house so maybe not overly guilty. I have checked her over and she can safely go back in the water for another years abuse.

Thank you again for showing us what can be done with these work horses. BTW if you can let us know how your prop tests pan out I would be very grateful as I have the same model Yam on mine but don't want to go stainless as there are one or two rocks around here and I like to get in close.

Ian

Hi Matt, i worked a little on the transom today. Like I said before, the transom was shortened to fit a short shaft. It is also a little wet inside. It will take some days with a heater to dry it , and i have the time to prepare the wooden parts that will be glued in.

Greetings from Germany
Mike

Hi Matt:

Please do stop by and say hello if you come over. I live on Tresco next to the Island Hotel. Inter-island with our boats is mostly 10 minutes or less except for St Agnes maybe 15 minutes - wow what a long treck lol. If you do come and the weather is good maybe we could do a run to the Bishop.

And you can see my boat on the BBC interactive. I get two shots in last weeks episode of "An Island Parish". One is with my boat on its mooring in front of Sea King. THe other is a shot heading into St Marys harbour - look for the fat bloke in the red jacket with two passengers, must get all of a second and a half footage. Maybe I should hit them for royalties ROFL. The prog will only be available for 1 more day.

Ian

This is a great blog

We are refurbing an Avon at the mo and we have just gotten onto the console.

Looking at this, am getting good ideas and suggestions for mods.

The boys are gonna hate me when I come along with "what if we....", "Well i've seen one done like.....". Wouldn't it be better if we did....."

Keep this one going, will get some pictures on soon of the console mods, don't think she'll be purty but she sure will be sturdy.

hi Murph, this was my searider which sadly i had to sell due to a large tax bill landing on my doorstep,
i have anoth searider project now, try to keep the original grey Hull colour as they do look really smart when polished up, the inside i used Flow coat with a roller, will use the same system this time around,

oh sh*t, you must have been gutted.

my hull is orange, do you think I'll be able to go over it with grey?

I'll eventually be looking for a fresh Yamaha 90, like the one on your old boat, any idea what kinda money they're making?
I have Yamaha controls and a multifunction display already so I would just be looking for the engine alone. Manual or powertrim wouldnt bother me.

Have you started your next project yet, if so what have you planned for it?
