Seastar HC5380 steering ram corroded
The lug end of my Seastar HC5380 steering ram has corroded away beyond repair. Would any of the lovely people who frequent this site know where I might get one in the UK. I have placed an order with the importer but have been told it wont arrive until June. Summer may have been and gone by then so I would like to be afloat earlier if possible. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave, thats who ive ordered from. Its on standard delivery and not due until sometime in June. Faster delivery is being quoted as £160 on top of the £360 for the part. I was fishing to see if anyone new of one kicking around.
Cheers. Neil

How much are they to order direct from the States?

There're some on Ebay from the states at around the £350 mark via the global shipping programme. Which I don't understand is that the price you pay or is more added later, how do you find out the final cost before you buy??

Problem is that as it's from outside the EU you could be liable to pay tax & import duty when it gets here & that's the postie asking for money before he tries to deliver it.

Why can't you fit an ultraflex or a vetus ram?

See I new it was worth asking you guys, I hadnt thought of the Vetus option so will investigate further. The problem according to the importer was the fact that the engines are mounted at an angle so only one of their rams would work.
Thanks again. Neil
