Seat base HDPE?? Help

Does anyone know where I can get seaboard ( HDPE) in the uk or something pretty similar? It’s for new bases for my jockey seat upholstery.
Thanks in advance

Do you specifically need a special marine property of seaboard and the premium price to go with it? HDPE offcuts are available on eBay or if you need bigger pieces any local plastic merchant will sell them - and probably be cheaper than shipping.

I’ve found a lot of places stock HDPE but it’s more for chopping board and worktops rather than the light weight seat base material I’ve come across in the past. Seaboard and kingboard are easily available in the states but not in the uk. Does any one have any better suggestions than using ply for the bases for my upholstery? Thanks

you can get HDPE in loads of thicknesses 1-50mm it depends on how the fabric on the seat is to be secured like staples or glue you could go buffalo board which is a marine grade ply used on ifor williams trailer floors i have my bunks made out of it very tuff stuff

I've not used them yet but I'm about to and they were very helpful over the phone.

It will take one but it won’t stay in it! Even self tappers work loose over time.

Other polymers may be better - stiffer, stronger, etc.

Foamex.
Easily bought online. Available in various thickness, just double up to required. All mine are 2 x 10mm bases, more than rigid enough.

it takes them but my gun is a very cheap one and only goes in 2/3 of the staple and a screwdriver soon lifts them out, HDPE is an oily plastic thats why it doesn't take glue very well as poly says i through bolt all my stuff unless as in my little console ive used coach bolts with a very course thread which stay in ok
screws dont IME
