Seating idea's for my boat
Morning!
I have the central offset 3 man console in the 5.4 searider, I'm toying at a later stage of having this kind of setup - I understand the 5.4 isnt overly wide - is the below really an option do you think, any thoughts, comments from anyone welcome
Thanks

Olly
As Nick suggests Steve, Into the Blue, has gone with side by side jockeys in his SR5.4
I'm sure he'll be along soon to comment.
Nasher.

Dicky Seat?
Don't fancy that mauve seat at the stern, not really my colour

Why is the console offset on your current layout?
Obviously it's because it was built that way, but what are the advantages?

I believe it was for possibly having a casualty able to lay down one side in the event of recovery

How much room did you have for fuel afterwards?

Have a look at this thread
http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19826
It's got a picture of the SR5.4 with 2x2 single jockey seats.
Works fine for us but we just want to go somewhere and not do much on the boat. It was also designed to be used by 2 x skinny athletic teenagers. I've enclosed another pic that shows a bit more of the layout.
As all to many others have said before me- work out what you want to do with the rib then work out how to do it. We wanted 4 seats, mostly only 2 would get used, 30knt performance and good seakeeping.
What are you planning to use it for ?

Don't know your boat exactly but if you have a possibility to "step" the seats, one a bit ahead of the another you will avoid knees banging togeather, and you will also have more room foor feets and shoulders. Won't be symmetrical thou, and might look odd.

THanks for your helpfull replies guys, had a couple of PM's - really usefull - Found a piccy of something similar I'd like to recreate, it'd be good to loose the 2 x 22 litre tanks up front in a large console or under the 2 x jockeys perhaps - hmm.....
I'd like the console long enough to seat 2 (driver+1 if poss) , and the 2 x jockeys a touch further back -

That's exactly the arrangement I'm putting in place for my RIB, but it is a 6m overall. I already have the double helm/jockey on the deck and the double jockeys should be with me in the next few days. Although the Aquaflyte is a touch longer than your SR5.4 it is quite narrow at the bow. This pushes the helm back a bit and therefore the overall space behind the helm seat may be similar to yours.
Do you want some photos of how the deck arrangement looks once I've got the pods?

Here you go Olly - hope this is clear enough. Just the bare pods at the moment - no seat upholstery or backs yet but they'll be sorted in time. There's not a great deal of sideways room but enough to get your leg between the tube and the pod (although your leg against black tubes on a hot summer day could be entertaining ). Plenty of room forward and aft though
If you need more piccies give me a shout
