Seaworks 2014
Just to remind all you Ribnetter's out there that Seaworks 2014 will be held at Southampton Docks, Tuesday 10th to Thursday 12th June. Always a cheaper alternative to London or Southampton for those of us who like our boats industrial. Check out the website for all info.

I've had Thursday the 12th booked off work for a while now so I can go.
I enjoy it every year.

How much is it to get in?
I've had what looks like 3 x tickets, invitations through the post, they just say free visitors registration on them.
So I'm guessing it's free to get in?
I'm hoping to get down this year

Yes, It is free entry via registration either on-line or at the exhibition. Lots of new boat designs on show this year and 40+ boats on the pontoons. Looks like I will be busy.

Morning all from a wonderfully sunny Seaworks. Open for the next three days (and free) we're on stand SB2 so if please do pop round and see Paul Sargent or myself as we're always always happy to talk training, rib cruising or just talk boats. Hope to see you here

Had a wander round today, as usual some very interesting stuff on show and some very nice boats.
Proper boats, not big White pointy things, and thankfully only one boat I saw had White seats with Blue piping.
A few that caught my eye and that I managed to get a snap of.
Cant help but love the XO270 and all sizes of Targa.
One day a Targa44 will be mine

And a couple more.
The Nauti-craft thing was an interesting concept.

I had a walk round yesterday. I thought that the ribs were poor. Almost 1990's. Nothing really new.
I had a look at one rib considering it was in a show had very bad tube work. All wrinkle around the the transom attachment strap and just untidy. It seems to be going backwards. Loads of fancy seats though

I agree with Biff, nothing new on the RIB front and some of the workmanship on a lot of the boats was a bit short lf acceptable. Never the less a good equipment show and a good opportunity to catch up with old friends ( and enemy's) Alan P

Yep, loads of them, all over the place.
Also had a good look at the interesting 'oddball' outboards on the Barrus stand.
185HP V6 Diesel
90HP Turbo Diesel
Multi-fuel, which has been around a while
Various themes of bolt on jet unit to replace the bottom assembly. Yamaha also had one on their stand.
'Scenery' seemed good this year too
Not sure I like the Bow rider, walk through RIB.

The Stealth painted Cat was cool, very much like a Hummer on the water.
Has a very big gun on top too.

What's the story with that? Is the whole "superstructure" on suspension?

It's two Cat type hulls on hydraulics.
As the boat goes around a corner the hull on the outer 'edge' goes down to roll it in.
The two hulls appear to move around a lot all the time, and the cabin can be raised and lowered.
Sure there's a video around somewhere.
EDIT - http://www.nauti-craft.com/
